Preparing Your Site for a Heavy Equipment Delivery

Delivery-day delays are almost always avoidable. Run through this list a day or two before the machine is due.

Access

Check the road width and turning radius for a lowbed or self-loader, weight limits on bridges and barangay roads, and overhead clearance — wires, branches, and gates. Confirm the entry gate is wide enough for the machine, not just the truck.

Ground conditions

You need a firm, level area to unload. Soft or muddy ground needs matting or gravel first, and any slope at the unloading point is a real hazard.

Space to maneuver

Leave room for the transport to park and for the machine to track off and turn without hitting anything.

People and permits

Have someone on site who knows exactly where the machine goes. Sort out any LGU or barangay permits for road use or oversized transport ahead of time, and set aside a clear spot for fuel and daily servicing.

Schedule

Confirm the delivery window, share contact numbers, and tell the driver which entrance to use. Send a map pin, not just an address.
